A new option for the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe is the second-generation 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax® turbo-diesel engine. It features a dual-overhead camshaft design with four valves per cylinder and a high-pressure, common-rail direct injection fuel system. This engine delivers 305 horsepower at 3750 rpm and a peak torque of 495 lb-ft at 2750 rpm. Internal updates such as new steel pistons, revised oil jets, a retuned turbo compressor, and improved fuel injectors contribute to its higher output. The diesel engine is available on all retail trims, including Z71 for the first time.
