CHEVY SILVERADO ZR2 VS. CHEVY SILVERADO TRAIL BOSS
Choosing a new truck or car can be a stressful process. It is hard enough to narrow down which vehicle you want but deciding on the trim can also be painful. At Powers Swain, we are here to make your choice easier by providing all the information you need. You might want a new or pre-owned car, depending on your budget and the features you desire. We are excited to announce that General Motors plans on releasing more trim levels for the 2022 Chevy Silverado, including the all-new ZR2. Read below to learn more about this trim.
What is the Chevy Silverado ZR2?
The Silverado ZR2 is very comparable to the Trail Boss. Both are Silverado trucks meant for off-roading. The main difference between these two is that the ZR2 is bulkier for more aggressive sporty off-roading. While the ZR2 has not been released yet, General Motors introduced a prototype to explain what the new truck will entail. The first Silverado Trail Boss was introduced in 2019. It differed from the standard version because it had great shocks, larger wheels, increased suspensions, and a black-out appearance. As its name suggests, it was meant for off-roading. General Motors eluted that Chevy will release the ZR2 in 2022 or 2023.
What is the difference between the ZR2 and the Silverado Trail Boss?
The differences between the ZR2 and the Trail Boss aren’t extreme. The ZR2 is rumored to have a turned-up front bumper. This feature will give the truck more clearance when traveling through large debris. It will also be lifted to around the level of a racing truck for extra support. The ZR2 is a sportier version of the already sporty Trail Boss. The ZR2 will most likely come with a V8 engine, whereas the standard Trail Boss comes with a 4.3-liter V6 engine. It is safe to say that the ZR2 will have more horsepower.
Because of its increased off-roading benefits, the ZR2 will most likely be priced higher than the Trail Boss. The 2021 Silverado Trail Boss started at around $51,100. Both are excellent choices for off-roading trucks; it just depends on your preferences and budget. Extreme off-roaders should wait for the ZR2, but the Trail Boss is also an excellent choice for those who do not go off-road as frequently but desire a sporty truck.
